Supporting your child with Read Write Inc PhonicsPlease find some helpful links to video clips, click the link below for how to say sounds correctly and support your child with blending sounds to read words. This website also gives insight into the Phonics scheme we use called 'Read Write Inc'.
Cursive letter formation in ReceptionPlease see the link to see how we form letters in Reception with 'lead ins' and lead outs' (cursive formation). Please only look at the letters under the blue headings. We teach the children to form letters this way in order to best prepare them for doing joined up writing in KS1. Although the letters have 'lead ins' and 'lead outs', in Reception we only encourage children to join digraph and trigraph sounds (2 and 3 letter sounds) e.g. sh, th, ng, nk, ay, ee, igh etc.
