Reception- Apollo and Atlantis

Welcome Atlantis and Apollo

Welcome back for term 3! We hope you enjoyed Christmas, spent time with your families and had lots of fun. We have enjoyed seeing and hearing about some of the activities the children have been up to.

Term 2 - 'Why do we celebrate?'.

We thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history and exploring the different ways Diwali, Fireworks night and Christmas are celebrated. The children, I know you will agree, were fantastic and put on a brilliant performance of 'Wriggle nativity'.

We celebrated world book week and were really lucky to have Author Tracey Corderoy share some of her fantastic stories with us.

This term we will be thinking about "How can we look after our world? Through the story George saves the world by lunchtime by Dr Jo Readman, we will learn about the 4 R's Recycling, Reducing, Reusing and Repair.

We will develop the children's interests and knowledge of other countries (Ukraine and Romania) and our local area, through a walk around the high street visiting local landmarks, carrying out a litter pick. We will be exploring the history of Chipping Sodbury as well as historical photographs and artefacts.

We are holding writing workshops Tuesday 24th January 2:45pm or 5pm. We will be sharing how we teach writing in school and how you can support your children at home.
